At the Jackson Hole Middle School, we believe proficient keyboarding is an essential skill for students to be successful throughout school. In order to maximize their time working on skills, it is necessary to practice keyboarding as much as possible. At JHMS we use the program All the Right Type. You can download a trial version at ingenuityworks.com. A home version is available to order ($20) through the JHMS Media Center. Other home programs to use for practice are Mavis Beacon, Mario, Type to Learn, etc.
The following are links to free online practice, tests, and games:
Keyboarding games can improve keyboarding speed and offer practice, but they don't teach students how to type correctly. Sequenced lessons are needed also.
